not sure what the price would be overseas, as I would expect shipping to be
somewhat higher.

ACE converter is from Yeager Automation, and is a free download.

CAMTronics sells three axis stepper motor drivers (drives three motors,
step/direction inputs for each) for about $150 USD for their 2 Ampere
version and about $220 USD for the 5 Ampere version. These are approximate
prices, and do NOT include any money for postage. These are kits, so you
must assemble and test them yourself.

Motors suitable for the Sherline lathe and mill are available from Sherline
at about $48.00 USD each, not including shipping. If you're careful and buy
motors from a surplus equipment store, you can expect to pay anything
between $5.00 USD to $25.00 USD for suitable motors. Look for a motor with a
NEMA 23 size (physical & mounting dimensions) and a torque rating of between
100 and 200 ounce-inches.
