I have a machine I'm currently building that will use a Berg cable chain to
drive the X axis. This machine isn't going to be a CNC macine but the
design is such that I could easily alter it to make it so by simply
replacing the upper part of the machine with necessary components to add CNC
controlled Y and Z axis. A rotary axis is already built in so theis machine
would be capable of machining 8" diameter "columns" up to about 7 foot
long...two at a time.
