Most of the EMC codes are defined via a lookup table, so to change a G49 to a
G44 appears to be a trivial task. There would be a number of other codes I
would change to suit my way of thinking.

Yes - The latest Tkemc can automatically switch between the two based on
whether a G20 or G21 is active (or G70 G71 if you prefer).
There are a few motion control cards available for between �500 and �1000 - You
don't have to use step/direction pulses.
