There is an EMC mailing list, but most people on it also subscribe to CCED.
Generally if it is a basic EMC question this group is appropriate as the
answer will be helpful to many of it's members. If it starts getting
esoteric the EMC mailing list may be more appropriate as you have more of an
advanced user/programmer audience there. Many people double post to both.

Yes EMC can be configured for metric. I think I remember that Ian said
something about having to vary some not so obvious setting to get the
decimal place correct on the display, but it is supported.

BDI covers steppers and servos.

There are 3 stepper modules. Steppermod, freqmod, and smdromod. I just
checked and all three are in the BDI, but smdromod seems to have some errors
and will not come up. Other than what you mentioned all you need is a cable
and some type of junction board to connect all three drives to the parallel
port. Can be done without, but worth the money.
