Brush life is a function of speed and, more importantly, current. The ad in
the catalog is somewhat misleading in that 2.5hp is really a maximum rating.
Lightly loaded, the brushes should last a long time - possibly several
years. At 2.5hp the brush life might be a few hours, assuming the motor
didn't cook first.
