I would expect that you should be able to get several years of operation
on a set of brushes. Unless the brushes and/or commutator are
horribly made, I can't imagine any rapid wear on them. I know I run
my shop vac pretty hard, and the brushes outlast everything else
in the motor (bearings, plastic motor housings, armature, etc.)
Due to the RPM, the brushes in a shop vac are probably under even
worse stress than in a 3000-5000 RPM motor.
