Red Hat 5.2 and Netscape

I am having trouble closing windows. After I start Netscape, navigating between windows gets dificult. I can click on the
bar at the top of a window and get it on top, but it does not become the active window and I can not close it by clicking on
the X.
The only way that I have been able to close anything is to quit Xwindows and then the next time I want to use Netscape I have
to go to /.netscape and delete lock.
Any help?
