Hand dials

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to find the dials /
measures you have on the handles of say your mill or lathe? At some point I
may follow Gingery's book and put together a lathe but he makes no mention
of how you'd actually know what depth cut you'd made, the lathe has no
measuring devices on it's controls. Is it going to be real expensive to buy
some? I know it's not really CNC but it's CNC sort of. : )
