You're coming through! Congrats! You're picking up this stuff
faster than most Linux "newbies."

Unfortunately, it looks like your Timezone settings aren't correct
on your system -- ala your header:

That "+0000" isn't correct. It should be "-0400" for US EST.

I usually just use the "setup" command to pull up the RedHat
ncurses-based administration menu to setup "Timezone configuration"
(note you must be running in a terminal as root first), but I'm not
sure your distribution has this.
