Servo means that feedback is used to control some aspect of the
device. Power steering in cars is a servo (a valve compares
steering wheel position with driving wheel position, and allow
hydraulic fluid to move a piston if they differ).

Any type of motor can be used in a servo system.

There are position servos, velocity servos, and torque servos.
(other systems can be temperature, pressure, water flow, etc.)
Anyway, without more info, 'a motor with a box on it' may or may
not be what you want, very hard to tell.

Note that many brushless motors turn only one direction. That won't
do you much good. You obviously need one that is reversible.
