OK, I got EMC running from the BDI but am having a couple of problems with
the Linux setup.
1. It took me awhile to figure out the floppy drive, but after editing the
fstab and the mtab files I got it to work. Being a lifelong Microsoft user,
I popped out the floppy without unmounting it. Now I get a "can't unmount,
possible stale lock file" error. How do I fix it?
2. I cannot get my modem to work. It's a 3Com/USR 2976 PCI unit which is
supposed to be Linux compatible. I have the proper driver (rpm) which
"scans proc/bus/pci/devices for a 3com pci controller based modem. When
found it will issue the appropriate setserial command and make the
/dev/modem link." Sounds good but the /pci/devices is empty. I also ran a
query (I forget what now) that is supposed to list all pci devices and I
didn't see the modem. I really need help with this one.
Thanks in advance to all.
