Interesting, I have 4 brand new Sanyo Denki Step-Syn motors, type
103G770-1848, DC 3.5V, 1.5A. SIX LEAD, 1.8 deg/step!

Are you sure you don't have six lead motors? For unipolar, unless the
drive is a chopper, you probably want more then the 3.5V rating of these
motors.

I don't know if you're aware of it, but you can drive 6 lead motors with
a unipolar drive. I'll probably drive them with a Camtronics board, or
Gecko's.
