sounds like a control for a linear actuator, like the
type used to position sat dishs.

I visited my favorite industrial surplus place today and came away
with the following treasure.
Printed on the control is:
Compumotor Microstepping Drive, A Series.
Compumotor AL Drive.
There is a sticker on the control which reads:
Industrial Devices Corporation, Novato CA 94949
Electric Cylinder Control
Model: SA DRIVE 6594
SN# 1890604
The control is ~2" X 7" X 9". There are 3 sets of connections
on the side of the box. One is for 95-132 volts ac input. Another
is output for a motor marked A+, A-, Gnd. B+, B-. Looks like the
output for a stepper motor. The third connection is a db25 female
marked "Indexer".
There is a chart on the front for setting an internal dipswitch for
the following 'MOTOR SIZES':
A57-51, A57-83, A57-102, A83-62, A83-93, and A83-135.
Also settings for the following 'RESOLUTION':
25,000, 20,000, 18,000, 10,000, 5,000, 2,000, 400, and 200.
And setting for 'WAVEFORM':
Pure Sine, +4% 3rd, -4% 3rd, and again Pure Sine.
Anyone see anything to help shed light on this beast?
I have visited the Compumotor and Industrial Devices site and found
nothing on the specs of this control. I requested some info to be
mailed but don't know how long that will take.
