Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Writing programs, volunteers needed for information

Thanks for the offer Smoke, I may have to call on it some time. : )

I had thought about using Xcell, I've done it many times before for just
working out the sizes and speeds of things like turbine wheels when I got
bored. I think we have something like 6 months to write this thing and the
idea is it's meant to be all fancy with little pictures and stuff for pointy
click work rather than a straight spreadsheet. The more the merrier I think
is the way. So piling in the scripts, midi files, sound effects and flash
animations = more points. Perhaps I could make it easier than having to
write a menu and write it as a web page which would make laying it all out
much easier for me. I'm much more used to html etc. Occasionally I have
pulled the menu off cover CD's and changed the .inf files to make small
menus for my CD-R's, I've not much hope of actually writing one from the
start at the moment. I think I'll scoot to the help files for the first time
in a very long time and see if there is anything but that calculator example
I did last year some time. Do you know of anywhere I might be able to find
some free reading material on menus in particular in Java or Delphi? I
understand how I would write the boxes that the inputs would go in and how
they functions but when I came to adding little tags at the top for changing
between parts of the menu I couldn't figure it out, the help files were
flaky to say the least (And I'm not up for £40 of mind numbing novel right
now).

Thanks for anything,
John He
