Yes, it breaks a crapload of stuff (like NetFolders), but it makes
many worms ineffective against it.
Sooner or later Microsoft will start putting security before
features. It is because of this, many old-time NT admins, including
many former Microsoft developers I know, finally started chucking
Windows completely several years back. There are few applications
missing from UNIX today, thanx to most Linux desktop developments.
And network services are much more powerful (despite
ActiveDirectory).
People think virus writers are the problem. Not true. Because when
war rolls around, you're going to see a whole new slew of viruses
appear. Software itself must be untrusting.
