Hi Bill,
It's just a pair of "AND" gates, and an inverter. Each AND gate gets a
step signal. One AND gate get straight direction, the other gets
INVERTED direction. One AND gate output goes to the CW, and the other
to the CCW of the driver. Suitable gates are 7408 and 7404 (you pick
the family, ALS...).
CW/CCW, boy, that is OLD!
