Rust perventative

Help,

Is there a spray on rust preventative I can use on my machine tools to keep the rust off. I have my machines in my garage and am having a real problem keeping up. I would like to find something I can spray on when I done with a machine and use it again later without having to clean the stuff off. Sometimes my machine sits months without being used.
If I know a machine is going to sit idle for 2 months or more I use Cosmoline, but I need something for the short term.
Your help will be very much appreciated.
