HI Johnno,
Best way to prevent getting dirt into the shop computer is to network it -
either using an ethernet connection (a couple of cards and a crossover
cable) or an RS232 serial link. This way you don't have to actually have any
tape or floppy drive permanently attached to the shop computer.
