Dremel had a bad design back in the late 80's or early 90's. They
got rid of one of the bearings to save a buck. There
is a lot of really heavy work being done with dremels, my opinion is
get the actual Dremel brand instead of one of the copys. Interestingly,
they have been collaborating with luthiers (guitar makers) to make
a better tool. The current design uses 3 sealed ball bearings, one on
each end and one to support the collet. It's about as rigid as you can
get for a plastic tool, but I guess a lot of plunging might not be a great
idea.
