Hello,
Thanks for the info - will AutoCAD work as well as VectorCAD
would? I have a couple computers with AutoCAD on them as well as
SolidWorks.
Let me know and thanks,

Chris:

I've used both the combination of VectorCAD 9.0 (the "list" special) and
ACEConverter and the VectorCAD 9.3 full package with no problems.

The key is to edit the G-Code file that either of these generate and add
the
following lines:

{dakcnc3.0} as the very first line of your file

{program start} as the line immediately preceding your first G-Code
statement.

You are free to put any comments regarding the G-Code file (or anything
else, for that matter, between these two lines and TurboCNC will ignore
it.
If you have the source code to TurboCNC, you can edit and recompile it
to
eliminate the need for either of these statements.

I'm just starting to play with the full VectorCAD/CAM package, but I
think
there's a way to have Vector generate the lines. There's so much in
there,
the first order of business was to print the manual. Fortunately, I was
able
to use the manual for 9.0 that I printed out and the addendum on the CD.

The other thing that you'll have to do is to configure your G-Code
converter
to use only those G-Codes that TurboCNC recognizes. But, this is the
same
requirement that any G-Code interpreter (TurboCNC, CNCPro, etc.) has.

|Hi all,
|Turns out the problem with the EMC install was just the CD I burnt it
|on. I guess the burnt image had some problems. It installed fine, but
|my laptop isn't too happy with Linux running on it - oh well.
|So... let's talk about Turbo CNC - what software can I take a CAD
|file (.dxf or equiv) and turn it into G-Code that Turbo CNC will
|recognize?
|Any help is appreciated,
|-Chris Clough
