I know there are a number of fokes on here that use the shoptask with
CNC conversions (and maybe ball screws) I have not seen post on the
Smithy with CNC. I am consideing the Granite 1324
I currenty have a Sureline mill and lathe with CNC conversion. This
has not been a very good experince for me- and currently this unit is
a very expensive drill press (I can't use it for anything close to
useful as a CNC unit)
the Smithy would repsent a very lage investmet for me (we are a
little paintball shop and the income from a mill/lathe is limited- so
its realy more of a hobby for me) And I don't want to flush another
bunch of money if I can help it.
So i would like to get some feed back if there are any users of this
guy out there, and i would love to get a sample or 2 of what the work
actuly looks like.
I also have considered the Shop task. Frankly the resion I'm
thinking about the smithy is that they are about an hour drive from
me, and they do inhouse financing. As much as the Shoptask looks
like it is more suited (with ball screws and much more resionable
conversion) I just have a problem with their aperantly having no
stock and having to pre pay and most of all having to wait once I get
the $$ up <G>
ThankS
