Hi Mike
I'm sure you are aware that my comments were ment as
a joke,I was trying to put some humor into all the frustration
flying around with all these little wormies :-)
a universal scripting language may be useful ,up to a point
but when it is not properly sand-boxed it quickly becomes
a Very very very big liability
logs in with root privlages by default
has integrated email clients that allow scripts to be executed
without the users permission
ships with no firewall mechanism in place
deliberatly blurrs the line between code and data
and makes the whole system open to any running script
thru an eaisly accessible registry file
-and then NOT EXPECT someone to write destructive viruses
that target that system?
as part of my job I have made some of the parts used in
aircraft ,firearms and various military weapons systems
yes I DO expect them to be used to kill people,
and I have done my best to make sure that none of those
parts will fail due to poor workmanship when they ARE used
I expect nothing less from the software that I use
