The short answer is you set the number of steps per unit in the
software. The long answer deals with the fact that the 2 axis's are
going to have different performance characteristics. The software will
do just fine at keeping the better performing axis speed wise from
exceeding the slower performing axis. You may want to gear up the screw
axis so it has a similar step per unit to the rack and hope that you are
not at an RPM in which the screw will whip.
