The i-o has a parallel port and one USB port. No expansion bus. It is
pretty easy to add a second USB port (the circuit board traces are there
and you just need to add the socket and a few surface-mount resistors
and/or jumpers). An aftermarket board is available to add a serial port
(or two serial ports if you remove the internal modem). A couple of guys
are working at getting a floppy interface working. But I use a SanDisk
Image Mate USB flash card reader with a 32MB card to transfer files between
my desktop and the i-o. For that matter, between our home's two desktop
computers, since the other one doesn't have a Zip drive and they're too far
apart for direct cable connect. Pictures of my i-o are at

shop home. (My yahoo handle is passive_i since I was big on keeping my
i-opener passively cooled by machining a custom heatsink, rather than
adding a cooling fan like most folks do (you need to remove a goodly chunk
of the original CPU heatsink to fit in a hard drive.) I did figure out how
to connect to the gameport built into the Yamaha sound chip, though I don't
use it.

I saw one at the "local" Gateway store and they're pretty slick (but they
don't have any expansion slots either--one PC Card slot.)
