Tim,
I have been keeping my eye on this item for a while (see it in the
TigerDirect catalog)...
I currently use a standard keyboard with a key cover to keep the chips, etc
out... so far it has served well, but the key cover obscures the key
markings when viewed from an angle and adds to the "feel" of the key
stroke... Another pain with my setup (that this keyboard could fix) is, I am
forever having to clear room behind it to make room to push the keyboard up
the bench, making room for something I'm tinkering with in front... the flex
of this new one would allow me to roll the keyboard over to the right (on
top of assorted junk) and use the space where it sat... flop it back when
done...
How is the tactile feel compared to standard keyboard?
Any more feedback on this keyboard would be appreciated...
Bryan

A couple of weeks ago I saw an ad for Radio Shack that listed an
"Indestructible" keyboard. It is sealed and looked to be just the ticket for
CNC use. I immediately convinced my wife to buy me one for our anniversary
(good timing). I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and it is a
great improvement over the standard keyboard I was using. I have not yet
subjected it to any of the nice smoking chips that land with a pretty blue
purple color from the heat, but it sure does shed the other crap I have
showered it in.
Take a look at it on the manufactures site:
http://www.grandtec.com/
I have not ties to this product other than being a happy consumer.
