There are software limits that are set in the EMC .ini file. You may be
able to override them with the "override Limits" button on the screen.
But, they are in the axis sections, one set of limits for each axis.
There are lines that read MIN_LIMIT = -xx.xx and MAX_LIMIT = xx.xx
these set the limits for the absolute position. For now, just set them
to something like -50.00 and +50.00 and you should be fine.

But, it sounds like you may have a problem with the mechanical limit
switches. If you don't have these connected, try changing the polarity
of the switch sensing. there are lines a little below the ones mentioned
already that read MIN_LIMIT_SWITCH_POLARITY = {1 or 0}
if it is a 1, change to 0, if zero, change to one. Then, try it again.
