I bought this Mitsubishi VFD and keypad a few weeks ago. You do not
need the keypad at all if you go with the default parameters. The
only settings I have changed (after playing with most of them) is I
reduced the ramp-up time to .5 sec and the ramp-down to .2 sec.
It's an awesome unit and for $225 delivered with keypad, it can't be
beat.
