You're right though. After the initial strugle, you are better equipped to
deal with the everyday kinds of things that happen. Living with Linux and
EMC gets easier after a while. And there is an amazing freedom to
experiment with it.
Yes you could buy a plug and cut chips system but what happens when you
just have to upgrade it. You would either have to learn it then or be as
stuck as the purchasers of all of those proprietary systems.
And then again maybe I just have someone named de Sade in my family
woodpile, too.
