What really draws people to use NIST/EMC as opposed
to other plug and play software packages? For me it was
the fact of knowing I had to do the mechanical, and
electrical conversion of the machine, so I might as well
learn about a good OS and machine control software that
was all open and highly modifiable. The cnc world is very
complicated and there is also not very many complete
plug and play cnc kits. I think maybe one day soon that
you will be able to install the software from a disk, but
that will not give the insight needed, should something go
wrong.
