Peter,

Unless you have something in your system which is either old and quirky or
is ultra modern and aimed at the games market for kids, you could be
pleasantly surprised. Many people have installed Linux with no problems at
all and the RedHat version usually finds and correctly installs most of the
cards itself. You will have to alter the display resolution (but then you
usually do when you install Windows as well) and, if you have a modem it is
just possible that you will have to tinker with its settings. Things like
this are best installed under Windows first so you can use the windows
device manager to find out which IRQ it will map to. I would recommend that
you use KDE desktop as this is about the closest to Windows that you will
get and you will feel a lot happier messing about with any minor problems.
