LPKF 101 Help wanted !

Hi,
Today I finnaly received an old LPKF 101 (1985) pcb-milling machine. The kit
i complete with software and hardware. Now I want to replace the old CAD
software and use it with modern GERBER output layout programs as for example
PADS or OrCad. Can anyone recommend a tooolchain (from gerber,via isolation
to controlling the machine) that will work ? How does the serial-protocol
between PC and the motor control box look like ?
