All List members please read

First I wish to thank and answer all people that have emailed me directly, I
have not been able to answer everyone, for your COMMENTS AND INPUT I say
thank you now.

The purpose of this list was set up when I really knew very little about what
all was included. As time has passed we have expanded slightly the things
allowed and covered in the list. When we did add coverage or allow things
like listing items for sale on the list, I was and still am willing to listen
to the list, however I also have to look at the desired scope of this list,
and decide is it good or bad overall.

I have killed the poll, it was running about 97% in favor of allowing CNC
machining procedures to be included, and this I am going to allow. I feel
that it should however be regulated by the members to only include that which
is pertinent to the home shop, that this list was designed to support.
This list was never designed to nor will it be aimed at support of
professional shops, except under the list topics of CAD_CAM(CNC)_EDM_DRO,
pertaining to getting these subjects supported for the home shop hobbyists.
I know that some now have there equipment running, and now want to do
professional work. I am happy for them, but this list is not the place to
get business advice, or procedures for starting running a professional home
shop.

as a place to take this kind of question is a good idea, and I also have
joined them.
Recently I asked a thread to be dropped, then later when there were postings
asking for it to be continued, I posted a request for any additional posts to
be sent directly to me for my consideration, but some people insisted on
continuing the online posting, this just added to the problems. I even got
mail giving me the legal beagle meaning of what I wanted to say. I really
don't need this. I have seen some of the other lists where anything goes,
and that is not this list. Neither Tim or I try to moderate this list except
in the instances when individuals are a bit over the line. I have also seen
lists destroyed by people that want to argue about everything on list. I
will not let them destroy this list even if they are an asset otherwise.
Calm down guys and think for a bit.

POSTINGS WILL BE ALLOWED CONCERNING PROCEDURES THAT ARE NEEDED TO DO
DRILLING, TAPPING, ETC. IN A HOME SHOP ATMOSPHERE.
However this is not saying that all procedures used strictly in professional
shop are needed or desired.
FOR THE MOST PART I WOULD STILL LIKE TO KEEP BASIC MACHINING PROCEDURES OFF
THIS LIST, THE SUBJECT IS WELL COVERED ELSEWHERE.

ALSO IN THE FUTURE IF I ASK A THREAD TO BE DROPPED, PLEASE DO SO ON LIST, AND
E-MAIL ME YOUR COMMENTS, OR ARGUMENTS. IT WILL HELP A LOT TO SAVE ALL THE
LAST WEEKS CRAP, AND ALLOW ME TO SEE THE ERROR OF MY WAYS, IF THE IS SO. OR
SHOW YOU THE ERROR OF YOUR WAYS.

FOR NOW, I WOULD LIKE THE LIST TO GET BACK TO THE SUBJECTS OF THE LIST, AND
NOT A LOT OF REPLIES TO THIS POSTING.
