Hi, well some brush motors last for years before needing brushes and or
maintainance. my wood planer uses a hi-speed brush motor and they recommend
removing the brush every 50 hours, clean dust and measure its length, i have
several years on it and have replaced brushes once. removing and inspecting
the brushes makes sure the brush is free in the holder. if the brush sticks
in the holder the motor wont last long before damage to brush and armature
takes place. cul brian f.
