I put a 10" chuck (bison) on a 10" horizontal/verticle rotary table (Phase
II) by thru drilling and counterboring the chuck from the jaw side for socket
head cap screws that clamp the chuck to the table in t-nuts in the table
slots. I carefully turned a 8-10" bar that just fits in the centering ring in
the face of the table, I put the chuck on the table with the cap screws loose
in the t-nuts, I put the bar in the chuck jaws so that the jaws are just
loose enough to let the bar move but not be wiggly, I move the chuck around
on the table until the bar slides into the centering ring, I tighten the jaws
on the bar and last the cap screws to the table, this centers the chuck
pretty well and is suitable for most work. This combo is very heavy but works
well, the only problem comes when you have to work close to the chuck when
the table is vertical, some times the chuck can get in the way.
I hope this helps
