I've got the same rotary table. It has an MT3 taper. The chucks in my
possession are D1-4 mounts. I very much want to mount them to my rotary
table. A rotary table is good for many things. So is a dividing head.

I've been thinking about this problem for several months now. I am
wondering how much value there would be to NOT use the taper in the final
mount, ie to keep it clear so that a bar could be inserted through the bore.
The best idea I had thus far was to build 2 pieces:

1) a long MT3 taper/bar, that would be used to center the chuck on the
table. Put the MT3 taper bar in the taper on the table. Set the chuck over
the bar. (It would stick out 6" or so.) Tighten the chuck on the bar and it
is centered to the table.

2) an adapter plate that used 4 tee bolts to hole it to the table and had a
D1-4 mount for the chuck.

There are two problems with this approach:

1) One must be able to get to the tee bolts with the chuck in place. This
necessitates using a very small chuck, ie buying one for the purpose.

2) I think the height and weight of the assembly would make it awkward. My
table is about 3" high. The adapter plate would have to be about 2 inches
high. The chuck is about 4 inches high. Total height is 9" before we get
anything in the chuck ! My Enco mill has a maximum of 13" between the table
and the bottom of the spindle, so I am wondering how useful this would be.
