Hi, well Dremmel cant be all that bad, worked mine thru 10 years of jewelry
biz, polishing, drilling beads, cutting frozen bearings off, running them at
160 volts dc to get more speed, we lost 4 over a 10 year period.
one of my last ones i still have since we closed the shop in 1982!!!!! if
you take em apart once in a while and stuff new brushes and bearings they
last pretty good. they just are not a 25,000 rpm motor with 3 horsepower
period.....also not running them wide open without a good load will kill
them. a variac will take a bit of speed off and make the life better. Also
for those of us who have worked a Bosto-matic with a majic 70,000 +rpm
spindle know even those expensive spindles need rebuilding quite often.
Fact of Life-after you stuff it into a solid piece in rapid instead of
feedrate
chances are you just goofed the spindle....cul brian f.
