A "zerk", or, "zerk fitting", is a small screw on fitting that you see on the
undersides of a cars front end. The nozzle of a grease gun goes onto, (around),
one, and holds onto it, while you pump grease into ths zerk fitting, which
lubricates the tie rod ends, ball joints, and various parts of the steering and
suspension.
