I do appreciate your reply and you should not feel bad.
I on the other hand.....
...pulled apart the old Xerox electric typewriter, trashed the cases,
the cheap printhead and associated slides, and the 6 cards in the
card rack. Of course I kept the power supply.
Then after the trash guys picked up this morning, I realized I had
just trashed a matched driver board to the pair of steppers.
I guess the lesson is to not do things in your sleep.
I am saving the two DC motors with attached encoders that I assume
are servos. but that is another story.
