A couple of weeks ago, someone suggested forming a "CO-OP" so that
people interested in getting good parts at reasonable prices could do
so.

I looked into what it would take to form a CO-OP and, to make a long
story short, it won't work in this case.

So, if there is some SERIOUS interest, someone (maybe myself) could
approach various companies and form a relationship that would
accomplish the following:

1- Allow hobbiests to purchase SMALL QUANTITIES of items without the
unreasonable overhead of the traditional distribution channel.

2- Not threaten their distributors (ie: I will only sell small
quantities to individuals -- not companies).

3- Offer some sort of incentive to the company for letting us do this
with them (We will only sell their brand of motion control products).

I am willing to entertain SERIOUS DISCUSSIONS about this OFF LINE at
the_dutros@....
