A computer mouse is an incremental device and a touch screen is an absolute
device. I doubt that there is a device like you are looking for. There
maybe something that works through a serial port with software drivers.

I was thinking of using a PenCentra 130 device for a user interface. It is
a WinCE device with a 640x480 VGA touch screen. The screen is 6" wide and 4
1/2" high. They are fairly rugged and can survive repeated 4 foot drops on
concrete.

They are starting to show up on ebay for about $250, the current 200 model
(faster processor) goes for $1200 new. The development tools (similar to
VC++) are available for free from Microsoft.
