RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] I'm looking for a source of eccentricbushings.

This would be really useful if I had access to a lathe. Unfortunately,
as the laws of the universe dictate, I'm SOL.
I'm just trying to think if I can just get a bunch of 1/2" DIA x 1/4"
aluminium discs, and just drill off centred.
So... addendum to my original request of eccentrics (which I'm now told
what they are really called), "anyone know where I can buy small
aluminium discs?"
Thanks... my "adventures of me versus the evil universe" continues.

I have always just drilled an off-center hole in the end of a big bolt,
then cut the bolt the right length to fit the hole. You then have a hex
to wrench on to adjust the amount of offset. If you have access to a
lathe with a 4-jaw chuck, you can offset the bolt just the desired
amount by offsetting it with a dial indicator. Then you can face off the
end so the hex portion is about half or so of original. You can do a
bunch in a short amount of time. You could still do it in a drill press,
but a lathe is easier.
The hex gives you a good place to put a wrench on to dial in the right
amount of squeeze.
Hope this helps -

centered (eccentric)
I know I could make them, however I'm trying to find a supplier that
already has them for sale.
I looked at mcmaster.com, and tried to google it...
I've found lots of eccentric washers... and roller blade eccentric
spacers (which may work, but are flanged).
I'm looking for a spacer/bushing of the following features:
- 1/2" OD
- 1/4" ID.
- 1/4" to 1/2" thick. (I hope I can choose or something).
This would be used to adjust bearings/cam followers. I know that there
are eccentric cam-followers. However they're expensive, when I need
quite a few of them. So, eccentric spacer, bolt, and standard radial
bearing = cheap. :)
Cheap is good, when it does the same job.
If anyone knows where I can find some for sale, it would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks.
