I obtained the table as surplus from:

and I had to add the z-axis.
The resolution is not 1/200ths of an inch -- I will change the page.
The resolution is 800 steps per inch. the ball screws are 4 threads
per inch and I use standard 200 steps per rev stepper motors. I could
improve the resolution with servos.
The bearings have a fair degree of slop -- kind of depressing
actually, but it does the job. So the accuracy isnt going isnt the
same as theoretical.
I'm building another table for a different application and I will be
going with servos -- which is actually why I joined the list because
I'm looking for a source for the servos -- alas havent found anything
yet.
suggestions for a source of servos are welcome.
