For steppers and drivers, I'd recommend the very best you can afford. If
you can scored something like the Compumotor OEM 650
drives I did for $125 ea, grab them, if you can afford it. Else, I'd
recommend looking at Dan's amps. Stepper motors, I really like Pacific
Scientific. Must have been some folks sleeping off the holiday, I scored
some 253 oz/in steppers w/dampers for $20 ea on Ebay! Hunt around, Ebay
is a good source, but it really helps if you have mfg catalogs to look
these things up and know what you are bidding on. I'm using Ah-ha right
now, and while I find it rather quirky in some respects, I like it. BTW,
most any program is going to be "quirky" if you are used to something
else...
