Hi Jon,
It's spelled Egur"o". Also known as a Japanese Hardinge.
I had an LT-10 for about 5 years. Incredible machine!!! I could bar
feed steel all day long and hold tenths on diameter. Unfortunately,
the previous owner had run it with water soluble coolant which played
havoc with all the micro-limit switches. Just like a Hardinge, it
should only use straight cutting oil.
Mine's been gone for at least 5 years now, but I might be able to
remember the peg board programming a little. Do you have all the
little plug/pins and jumper wires? After you do the programming
once, it becomes fairly obvious. I bet it'd come back to me if I
could see a picture of the pegboard.
Eguro has (had) a dealer in LA. I remember spending an hour on the
phone describing a problem I was having with the machine while the
technician made noises like he understood what I was saying. Turned
out he didn't understand a word of English.
You might check the Westec vendors. Eguro has had a booth there in
years past, only CNC's now, though. Check with Ellison Machinery,
they were dealers. I recall a guy in Santa Ana (I think) was running
quite a few.
Incidently, until a guy offered me a thousand bucks, I considered
converting mine to computer control. I intended to keep the
hydraulics, but operate the solenoid valves under computer control.
