I bought a used EMCO V10P (not to be confused with ENCO) lathe about 10
years ago. It only had a had a half HP motor but it was always an excellent
and highly accurate machine. I was getting ready to convert it to CNC (very
easy to do on EMCO machines) and then someone paid me more than what I paid
for it The deal was good for me 'cause I needed a bigger machine.

This machine had a bolt on mill attachment. I didn't like the mill
attachment very much as the motor for it was much smaller and the machine
could only take very light cuts.
I'd imagine that's the same problem you'd get with any of the lathes having
bolt on attachments.

If a lathe has two drive screws...one for threading and one for feed, it's
usually very easy to convert to CNC by adding a ball screw on the back of
the machine. The lead and feed screws are either left out of gear or
disconnected as required. The ball screw can be disconnected and the
lead/feed screws reconnected if you want to use the machine manually.
