BDI is Paul Corner's "Brain Dead Install" version of the EMC CNC machine
control program. So many people had trouble installing Linux and getting
the real time patches to apply correctly and then install EMC, that he made
up an automated script and added it into the standard Linux install mechanism.
He then put it all on one CD. Assuming your BIOS will boot from CD, you
just pop in the CD and boot the computer, and it does the rest. (There is
a way to make a boot floppy if needed.)
