LINUX B.D.I. Installation problem?

Evening,

I just downloaded and attempted to install the brain dead linex
e.m.c. software and i am recieving a "mounting hda5" error when the
software begins its installation. this occurs after i have entered
all of the information that its asked. i have even deleted the
partitions and recreated them.

of course i'm a linux neophyte.

can anybody help ??????
