Hi,
This is a blatant advertisement.
I got the G201 REV-5 panels back from the PCB house this morning. I
surface-mounted one panel, hand assembled one unit and am testing it
now. It works great (so far).
I'm just want to give a heads-up to those people contemplating
getting a G201/G210. The REV-5 will be available April 10 onwards.
Any G201/G210 before then will still be a REV-4 (current version).
There are several new features, the major three being:
(1) The "size 42 modification" is now set with a jumper.
(2) Mid-band stabilization can be disabled with a jumper. This is for
the very few that run software having very ragged (non-uniform) step
pulses.
(3) Power-on reset. The drive activates 1 second after power is
applied. This allows everything in the drive to stabilize before the
power MOSFETs are enabled.
The other changes are some parts have been moved around to make it
easier to remove/replace the cover and adding clearance to allow the
use of metal split washers instead of nylon washers under the 4-40
cap-head mounting screws inside the drive.
Everything else is the same as in the REV-4 units; auto current
standby, high and low current ranges, etc, etc. Same price too.
