hello;
work on the archives continues.
i am having to edit manual many of the messages
to remove the extraneous lines of ads, etc.
while working on them late tonight i have made a
list of 94 messages/posting which i really question
about being in the archive. all of the messages
concern a past member, hoyt mckagen. below is
the list of messages.
it is my opinion that these message add little to
the group. to be blunt most of these messages are
personal attacks and flames between hoyt and other
members.
if i was making the decision concerning these messages
they would not go in the archive that will be burned to
cdrom. i would like input from others particularly bill.
if it is decided that they should not be included in the
archive i will replace them with 'placeholder' messages
to keep the message numbers in sync with the yahoo archives.
messages either from hoyt or in reply to hoyt.

7404 7407 7888 8286
messages which refer to hoyt.
13382 13383 13386 13392 13412 13425 13597 22886
26442 33209 33306 33308 34524
there are other messages which fall into what i have
labeled the 'obsolete' group. these concerning the
egroup takeover of onelist, the yahoo takeover of egroups,
the paypal campaign to not have ads on egroups, and obsolete
e-mail addresses and web pages. these also would be replaced
with 'placeholder' messages to keep the message numbers in
sync with the yahoo archives.
the alternative would be to make one cdrom indicating which
messages were not included, why they were not included, and
send it to bill. that cdrom would included a folder named,
blackhole, which would contain those messages not to be
included in the final archive.
