hello;
your e-mail is an example of the old saying:
'no good deed shall be allowed to go unpunished.'
i am not censoring anyone. there are 41000+ messages
in the archive. not every last one has information that
is useful to the goal of the list. there are several
messages which are blank. given the current strict stance
concerning flames and personal attacks i am somewhat
surprised that bill, tim goldstein, or jon elson, have not
deleted them are the yahoo archive. the same is true for
the spam messages. the same is true of the lady who is
upset about being subscribed to the list.
there are currently 200 messages missing from the
yahoo archive, i have all ready posted that list of
message numbers. those messages are gone. i have no
idea why they are missing i just know they are missing.
by your own definition and message the archives as they
exist on yahoo have been 'revised'. there are no complete
archives that i know of.
i do know that any list member using the web page interface
may delete messages that they posted.
your statement that the people reading the archives
are adults is incorrect. there are two mennonite children i tutor
in computer, math, and science that would like to have a printed
copy of the archives. i know that there are messages in the archive
that their parents would not want them to read. hoyt's messages
are a good example of those. given your position you would deny
those children the ability to read even a printed copy of the archives.
i know that i cannot please everyone concerning the cdrom archives, and
i will not try.
i think from here on out any archive questions will be addressed to
bill, tim goldstein, and jon elson. bill, because he founded the list.
tim goldstein and jon elson, because they are bill's choosen moderators.
